The Designer/Educator
With over 35+ years of mastery in the fashion industry, Guerda Pierre is a visionary whose work intertwines technical precision with soulful storytelling. Guerda
discovered her passion for garment construction at the age of sixteen from helping her sister Michelle with a sewing project in high school, a spark that ignited a brilliant career. Her journey took her to the fast-paced fashion
industries of New York and Florida, where she spent decades mastering the art.
A self-taught prodigy who purchased her first sewing machine at 17 with her own summer earnings, Guerda has dedicated her life to the "Substance" of design. Haitian born, she loves to infuse her Caribbean roots and culture by continuously updating the brand’s signature aesthetic with inspirational designs, vibrant prints and colors to create modern silhouettes in detailing the unforgettable fit to flaunt the right curves of a woman's body.
Guerda’s expertise is backed by an elite academic background, holding an Associate in Fashion Design from Newbury College, Boston, MA, a BS in Business Development fro Barry Universitiy, Miami Shores, FL, and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Fashion from The Academy of Art University Francisco, CA. Her unique ability to blend high-end artistry with modern education is further strengthened by her MS in Technology and TESOL from Barry University, Miami Shores, FL, making her a world-class mentor for aspiring designers globally.
Guerda’s expertise is not only found in the studio but also in the classroom. A dedicated educator at heart, she taught Fashion Design at the collegiate level for 13 years, mentoring hundreds of students through the rigors of pattern-making, draping, and collection development.
Her career is anchored by deep roots in the New York and South Florida fashion industries, where she spent 40 years mastering the craft of bridal and evening wear. This rare combination of high-level industry experience and over a decade of academic teaching makes her one of the most uniquely qualified mentors in the digital fashion space today
Originally launching her brand as "Michoula" to honor her late sister, Guerda eventually evolved the label into Lordana—a name that represents the "Shine" and rejoicing found in the face of life’s challenges.
Today, Guerda operates from her private studios in Miami, FL and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. When she isn't draping silk or mentoring students in the Lordana Fashion Academy, she is a devoted twin, mother, and grandmother, finding her greatest joy in the "Golden Threads" that connect her family across generations.
